A major pet peeve of mine is when people park their shopping cart blocking the passage through the supermarket aisles.

oh tom, hello and welcome. thanks for sharing this one. i'm right there with you. i really really hate it. i move the carts myself after 1 excuse me or if they just look too preoccupied, i'll move it. dare them to say something too. park it to the side, not the middle.

Okay, all of the above. I number my pet peeves. I thought about having a page on my blog for pet peeves.

#783 let me finish a sentence

#862 if you let me finish, can you acknowledge the conversation with at least a grunt?

so many, so little time...

i love that you numbered your pet peeves. too funny. yes it's difficult at some times to converse with some because they are so ready with what they want to say, they cut you off and then the conversation turns around and you never get to finish. buh. buh is just an expression for when i have nothing else to say :)

I do get annoyed at things but I honestly can't think of anything at the moment. it probably tends to be when people don't do their job properly, and it affects me in some way.

okay you are a peaceful person and that's good. actually i read this article in scientific american mind that said the annoyances our significant other or people in general, may do is all about how we interpret the annoyance. like some women will interpret a man snoring as: he's home, he's safe, i know where he is - whereas i would interpret it as, you're keeping me awake, you're loud, i'm going to smother you. interpretation is the key. thanks for letting me comment on this now i don't have to blog about it - as only i may find it interesting.

People who think its OK to tap your bumper when getting in and out of a parking spot even when they have plenty of room.

Bicyclists who run stop signs and traffic lights. To top it off, they are usually not wearing a helmet.

Loud music coming from cars.

People who don’t abide the “slower traffic to the right” rule when on a freeway; especially a two lane one (CA I5, parts of 101).

People who use their hands to sample foods in the bulk bins at the store.

Those who still write checks in line. At least have the merchant, date, signature, etc filled out ahead of time

that's funny, bicyclist who think they are cars. one guy who would ride his bike everyday even had the hand signals going on..he would be first in line at traffic light like he was a car. i'm like dude, hop on the side walk and go through the light. no motor on his bike. puh-leeze.

Valerie,

To tell you the truth, I don't actually know what the rules are in different countries with respect to escalator etiquette.

In Australia, most folks tend to stand on the left, allowing those who wish to pass to do so on the right.

I guess it's because we drive on the left hand side of the road, and are therefore used to overtaking on the right. Because of this, it seems natural for us Aussies to pass others on the right hand side, and that behavior seems to carry over to escalators as well.

But like I say, I don't know what the rules are in different countries in this regard.

maybe it's the reverse in Australia. most people stand to the right and walk left here on the escalator.

People who cannot bring themselves to drive the speed limit but, instead, drive 5-10 miles under it. I want to yank my hair out.

Drivers who have no idea that their cars have turn signals.

People in the fast lane, on the freeway, driving 50.

People who merge onto freeways driving 40 or slower.

People in the far right lane who slow to a crawl or even STOP when cars are merging onto the freeway. I've seen that happen and it almost caused a nasty several-car accident.

Pretty sure I have road rage. lol

Oh yeah- and people in restaurants who yap on their phones, endlessly, at the table. Knock. That. Stupid. Shit. Off.

what's up, road rage woman. i feel ya on all counts, especially the blinker. please use it people.

Hi Valerie,

Hmmm, mine is I don't like people who don't know how to say thank you, please and sorry. I am in the Philippines now though I can feel the crowd in the malls and food chains. Some people step on my foot without saying sorry. Duh! They ruin my day.

Raquel

an eye for an eye and a foot for a foot. step on theirs back. okay well don't do that. an excuse me/sorry is just good manners. everyone is in a rush i guess.
