Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep

So I am at the end of a week long sickness and contrary to what “they” tell you, a flu shot cannot make you sick, but each time I get one about a month later I am sick. Call it a coincidence for two years running. Next year if I am still employed at the same job (they supply them for free) I am not getting a flu shot, I want to see if I get sick. I’ll report back.

Meanwhile, I have been on antibiotics for the past five days and I am almost sure the instructions say not to mix with alcohol. Problem! Occasionally, I like to have a drink when I get home from work. I love this time of year just for egg nog (and rum), but I didn’t buy any because I was taking medication and did not want to mix it and wake up dead. Since today was the last day of me taking medication, after work I stopped at the liquor store to get a bottle of StarBucks Coffee Cream Liqueur. It is new on the market and I wanted to try it. When I got to the liquor store, my booze budget was only $16, that is all I had in my pocket and I did not walk in with my debit card on purpose. I had a sales person direct me to where the Cream Liqueur was located and the price read $24.00. This store is in the village and they would rob the blind. I’m thinking: you don’t know me at all do you? This was not my regular spot. At that cost, I’m thinking the price should have been revealed to me one number at a time, like I’m on The Price Is Right or something, not all at once. So I rolled my eyes, mumbled something under my breath and picked up a bottle of Bailey’s Irish Cream and later closed my eyes and told my tongue it was something else.

I invited a friend over for drinks and we chatted, okay I did a lot of listening, that’s my gift, and we got caught up on the past. We talked about work and mutual friends. Speaking of work, today was a busy and profitable one today. My office is in the same building as T-Fal the cookware manufacturer and every year they have a sell for their employees and other building workers. I picked up some really beautiful pots, pans and one set for friends and family. I usually buy them and give them away as gifts and I keep a few pieces for myself. The prices were beyond cheap, I don’t even know why we were exchanging money. We swooped down like locusts and cleaned the place out.

Today was a good Friday. I’m satisfied, mellow, ready for bed and now, I lay me down to sleep.

That is really sad to hear. Ever since I learned that mercury was being put into flu shots, I completly stopped getting them. I have not taken a flu shot for the past 3 years and I have not gotten sick. The worst thing I had was a stuffy nose. I cannot recall the last time I had a fever or sore throat. I do not trust any vaccines of any kind. But it is good to hear that you are doing better now. Good luck!

    Thanks Healthy Man

I was a Healthy Woman before that shot. In fact, three people in my department were sick and we all got a flu shot. I never had a flu shot in the past and I hardly ever got sick. Not like this. The flu shot wasn’t free, cost me an expensive day home from work, a doctor’s bill and medication. Next year, they can keep it.

I find one’s health is clearly dictated by the number of visits to the health industry…the less you interact with them the better you feel…I have never had one of those shots and have no intention of ever having one…I have survived this far with out some quack pumping me full of every chemical he can…and I’m feeling just fine..
