Do readers care how many subs the blogger boasts? I wonder. I get asked all the time from my fellow bloggers how many subs I have…but my actual readers have never inquired.

Jude, oh you’re welcome. I hope you go through with learning how to drive a stick. It’s frustrating at first, you might want to cry and throw your bike 100 yards or kick it, but you will love it after you learn. Keep us posted on your blog, I’ll check back.

JD, hey there. I had a row of chicklets and a bunch of stuff myself…don’t know why, following the masses. ….and you should be proud. You’re holding it down quite well over there…I will see you later.

Feefifoto, I know someone told me that before, but I don’t know how to fix it. All I know how to do is to rename the feed once it’s in google. I tried subscribing with other readers and the name of my blog comes up just fine, but not in google.

If anybody can tell me how to fix this, I’d appreciate it. I did a search and still can’t fix it. Maybe it has something to do with me taking the name out of wordpress and using my own header, but as I mentioned other readers don’t seem to have a problem. Help.

I don’t know if it’s just me, but when I subscribed to your feed (you’re welcome ) it kept coming up in Google Reader as “title unknown”.

I was one of those bloggers who had to have every widget, chicklet, blodget, flidget, and smodget in my sidebar. I like showing my subscription numbers because those stats do mean something to me. I don’t think my blog is any better than a blog with fewer subscribers; I’m just proud of what I’ve accomplished.

But I agree with Kathy. A better gauge is comments. I treasure my readers and commenters. You can have 5,000 subscribers, but if no one participates, what’s the point?

First of all I would like to thank-you for stopping by my blog and encouraging me to learn to shift gears on my Suzuki. I am going to seriously try.

I do not put any stats at all on my blogs, links in or my subscribers because like so many said I do not want to obsess about it and I don’t like to compare my blogs with other blogs and wonder why mine aren’t doing as well as theirs.

I don’t even have the real rank showing from Izea even though it’s a good number. I simply don’t like to be compared.

Vered, I believe it’s for those blog that use their feedburner link..i could be wrong….i checked it against mine to see if it was right and it was. I’ll take a look at the link. When or if I see a high subscriber number I always why and how…you can pick up a lot of tips just by looking at blogs. Oh you’re welcome and thank you.

Richard, glad you use it as one of your motivators. How do you feel if you don’t reach your goal…what [in particular] about the way you blog changes? Will check out the link, thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Shamelle, I get to that point a little myself when it comes with trying to keep up with all that’s out there, stats and key words, like you: either grown out of it or have better things to do! I try to keep it in its proper place and that would be out of my view. I’ll check out your post in the A.M. thanks.

Meleah, I subscribe to your blog and the first time I went to do it, I couldn't find a link NO WHERE which tickled me a bit. I said to myself, you don't stumble, digg or advertise other than visiting/commenting on blogs, yet you have a great amount of loyal readers and people who comment. You're doing okay, hon' Sandy, huh? well you can always count me in as visitor to your blog. Meleah, I would love to come out and play, but I think I'm played out. I stepped out of state for a day and a half with just a knapsack, no laptop....been out of the loop. I'll be over to play. Corrina, well you have at least one, I subscribe, even though I don't have to...I visit your blog automatically, I just go there often. Inflated ego? I have no idea how to count my subscribers! LOL. I’ve never even thought about it. I guess I’d be shocked half to death if ANYONE subscribed to my blog. This was an interesting post and I think I might check it out, if only to deflate any kind of ego I might have developed over the last week.

Yes, initially when I started blogging I also kept a close watch on the subscriber count a lot. Years later…. it doesn’t matter anymore! I suppose I have either grown out of it or have better things to do! he he
